Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These Terms govern your use of the KNOCK app. By using KNOCK you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What KNOCK is

KNOCK lets you send a short "knock" to request someone's attention and see when they have acknowledged it. It is not a full messaging service and is not intended for emergencies. For urgent or life-threatening situations, use your local emergency services — not KNOCK.

2. Your account

Your account is tied to your device. Keep your device secure. If you set a recovery key, keep it safe — it is the only way to restore your account on a new device. We cannot recover an account without it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use KNOCK to:

You are responsible for the content you send. Recipients can block you and report abuse.

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on KNOCK. Accounts that send harassing, threatening, hateful, sexual, or otherwise objectionable content, or that abuse other users, are removed.

4. Blocking and reporting

Anyone can turn off incoming knocks, block a specific person, or report an abusive knock or user directly from the app. Blocking a person immediately stops them from reaching you.

We review every report and act on objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours — removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it. We may suspend or permanently remove accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Availability

KNOCK is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that every knock will be delivered instantly or at all, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it will be error-free. Delivery depends on networks and Apple's push service, which are outside our control.

6. Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Inactive accounts are deleted automatically after 30 days.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KNOCK and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any missed, delayed, or undelivered knock. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above.
